Attention Riverside County voters: we all should be concerned. As with the rest of the country, there are currently proposals for new data centers in the unincorporated areas of our county. These large Data centers will affect all of our electricity rates, possibly leading to rolling blackouts. They will use massive amounts of vital water resources for their cooling systems, putting a major strain on our local water systems. They will also create excessive noise pollution from their industrial cooling fans and backup generators. And add additional traffic demands during construction and in the long term create little to no jobs. We can stop these Data centers from coming to Riverside County by contacting your local county supervisors and through grassroots organizing and policy advocacy.
